I never understood how the little drummer boy’s parents could just send him outside alone at night to play his drum until my daughter brought a recorder home from school.

When I was in grade school, the entire 4th grade received recorders to play. AND WE FORMED A MARCHING BAND. I look back and feel so sorry for unexpecting parade goers that had to hear us.

Ours had to play them on the back porch, while the 2 chihuahuas stood at the back door and shook and howled as an accompaniment. Good times.
