I keep forgetting just how far north Europe really is 
Today is the December #solstice, when the Sun appears at its most southerly point.
Here's how the Sun's movement looks from space, seen by @eumetsat's #Meteosat...one frame at 6am UTC each day.

Yeah...if it wasn't for some random water current (which we're about to kill...) from the gulf of Mexico we would have a weather pattern comparable to that of Canada or Greenland.

Nice but doesn't the earth move in relation to the sun so the earth should be shifting here when you want to depict the view from space... What does even qualify as "the view from space" as the sun also moves in space?
