And the talented scientists likely benefitted from a university education, probably from a time when the whole nation helped pay for it. Education is an investment which benefits us all - its cost shouldn’t be an individual’s burden.
I know many of the scientists who worked on the AZ vaccine. Lots did benefit from state funded uni studies, mostly abroad. Which is the problem: the new immigration policies and rhetoric make it harder for us to attract these talented scientists to our country in the first place.
