My dad suggested driving the 30 seconds walk to Tesco at the end of our road the other day and I nearly had a heart attack.
Britain is madly addicted to cars. It's crazy. Just seen one of my son's friends being driven to school...he lives a 2 minute walk away.
Probably took him 20 minutes in the car as it's so jammed up.

Sadly this happens across the EU continent. I've walked my daughter to school (10 mins, about 1k) and we have to dodge idiotic parents pulling out of their driveways on their way to school... between us and the flippin' school! "Oooo but walking is dangerous!" they say. FFS.
