One word: equations

Can you give an example of equation you can do in latex and not in word? Most recent versions of word are very performant on equation aspects.

I politely disagree. I don’t write that many equations so I don’t compare based on this one but focus on content not layout, typesetting, hyphenation, etc. Google docs is good enough for drafting ideas together and writing a proposal where you don’t care about the final result

I like Word. I think the real difference with LaTeX is that you have to learn to do it well and you can use Word badly. But if you use Word well - Styles, keyboard shortcuts for equations, referencing, locking down images, ... you can do everything LaTeX can do and comments!

I would claim i know how to use both Word and Latex well. I could learn more about both, but I find latex far more reliable if you care about the output look-n-feel. But I just want to bang out a letter or a short tech doc, then I use markdown and pandoc to produce pdf :-)
