It's a pity they don't soft land the crane. I'm sure there could be potential in retaining the hardware.

Just fuel storage and simple engine motors, no way it has a potential use. Ingenuity is a prof of concept to complement future rovers with some flying complement (despite there is no a nother US unit planed but the european Rosalind Franklin-ExoMars 2022 and MSR)
