How big does a contrail get where you can still see it? S3 highest visible resolution is 300m I think. Are you thinking of Sentinel 2 (higher resolution visible)?
A twitter challenge: I'm giving a presentation next week about detecting aircraft contrails from space.
The presentation is to a @CopernicusEU project, but I'm not using any Sentinel pics.
So, can anyone find me some nice Sentinel-3 pictures of contrails that I can use?

There are often contrails in the region around Belgium in clear days. I had this example in my records, 14 February 2019. You can even play "try to match the contrail and its shadow" :)pic.twitter.com/E8LY2ImaO7
