Agreed. I've investigated plenty of turbulence-related accidents with pilots doing this type of thing. There's absolutely no need for it. They're "true aviation professionals" right up to the point where they're unprofessional. I hope you share this with the airline involved.

The airlines don’t want to hear it. I sent my AA piece to AA and they never even bothered to answer. Same was true of my sole encounter with extreme turbulence where the crew flew right into a thunderstorm. That was on UA and, again, no reply. They don’t care.
