As an addition to our preprint, I made some movies to show different cortical dynamics that were captured by the encoding model. First, visual and auditory had a strong impact on posterior cortex …

I was in Iran visiting family. There, I logged onto . It blocked my access to private repositories at once, with no notice. I can't access or repositories. I have filed 2 appeals, no response. How absurd! If anyone has a solution, please share! Thanks

During decision-making, are inhibitiory neurons just untuned bystanders? Nope! found them to be as strongly tuned as PyNs. Also, the 2 types gear up together over learning. This suggests selective subnetworks as suggested by &

Congratulations to Dov Salkoff, a recent grad student in my lab, on publishing a paper showing that movement and performance explain a lot of the activity in the mouse cortex.

    1) Is systems neuroscience your thing? 2) Are you intrigued by the timing of self-initiated actions? 3) Do you dream with electrophys recordings of large neuronal ensembles using cutting-edge technology? 4) Are you looking for a post-doc position? We want you! 👉

    >350 neuroscientists have signed this petition so far. Surely there are more who are on board with the message. Then sign it!! The minimum to ask is to calculate & publish publicly the annual CO2 footprint.

Can we trust interpretation of machine-learning models that are good at predicting data? Our preprint on shows that good data prediction and accurate interpretation of the model are not the same.
