I’ve been meaning to read the target article & get back to you but haven’t gotten around to it yet. Without having read it this seems like the kind of line I’d object to if written by someone who disagrees with the article, so I’d have preferred if the blog didn’t go there.

Terrifying. But isnt't the key tell the combination of inadequate sample sizes with implausible (published) success rates? Maybe noise mining occurs without these signs, but where these signs appear, nothing but noise mining is happening.

I think that’s pretty much right, but clearly there isn’t enough consensus around that to keep literatures like this from growing in size and stature.

If only those were a reliable signal, but you can find those for personality research and other more legitimate research also..
