    This overhead slows down our syncing and increases our database size. Please bear with us while we add in optimisations we've been working on lately. We've already seen a 25x improvement in performance over the last week!

    Using these specs means a lot more Merkle tree hashing, more cryptographic operations per second and significantly more memory usage and database throughput than previously seen on minimal Eth2 public testnets.

    Our testnet presently has more than the minimum number of validators required to launch the beacon chain (16,384). This allows us to obtain an accurate view of the computational load required for running Eth2 in production.
