so does that mean the app would have access to EVERYTHING rather than being prompted each time please?
You are using a version of Android that doesn't support permission prompts, but Signal will still only utilize the permissions that it needs.
not trying to trick you into an answer - understand it's stated it will only use permissions that it needs although as a user i won't know & therefore could access EVERYTHING
