@whispersystems ever thought about adding sms functionality to the chrome extension, so users can quickly reply to non-signal users?

Effect of policy: cause people to switch to their SMS app. Desktop-to-SMS would keep more people within Signal, give chance to educate users
-
Another possibility is that Desktop users are more likely to recommend Signal to their friends so that they can message them too.
-
Come for the desktop SMS support, stay for the encryption. Nearly impossible to get friends on Signal just because I am there.
-
Most friends don't want to switch to another service, I recommend it to everyone... If the desktop app could relay the message to the 1/2
-
Phone, so the phone can send it off would make my day. I used to use pushbullet but they don't work with signal messages

Firefox supports web extensions now can we expect a port over? They are the non-corrupt open source browser after all...
-
A standalone version of Signal Desktop is almost ready.

It might be nice not to use Legacy protocols but tell that to people who still use it instead of signal.
