Well fuck. A friend just joined Signal and we just realized it distributes your phone number to your contacts who use Signal w/out consent.

I don't think it does what you think it does. If Person A adds Person B, whom also uses Signal, Signal will notify you.

You are not mistaken! Signal only transmits your phone number to someone if you send them a message.
