No msg is sent, notifications are locally generated by the Signal app of the user who has you in their contacts

Signal is designed to be as simple as normal comms, so if someone can contact you by phone they can by Signal.

One only receives this notification for ppl in one's own contacts. Doesn't come "from" a user w/ you in theirs.

Yes, anyone who has your contact info will be able to contact you over Signal, just like SMS/Phone.

Understood. We're working on things like blocking for cases where there are ppl one doesn't want to hear from.
