  To all of you lawyers out there how is this constitutional? It seems one accused of a felony in La. is not receiving the same constitutional protections as one accused of the same crime in Tex. This seems to conflict with the principle of equal protection/treatment under the law

  Unanimous jury verdicts in criminal cases is an important and necessary protection which helps ensure that the innocent are protected. It’s not a guarantee, but it’s the best we can do.
