Well, this is very interesting from @nicholaswatt – the govt is changing the way it is releasing death figures, which “may not actually be the deaths that have taken place over the last 24 hrs” as family consent is now required:pic.twitter.com/dks70PDK1I

It really doesn't make any sense as an explanation.

We may not get any death figures today, as they are looking at moving to publishing first thing in the morning. Aim is to give more time to collate NHS data and inform families before ages and locations made public 2/2

The PM's spokesman was asked about the death figures just now, and he could only confirm that the reporting time is changing – Downing St said the numbers are being compiled by PHE and would have to check re: the consent issue raised on Newsnight.

Like Germany massaging figures for deaths! Which is why their numbers are so low!

According to the RKI all corona-related deaths are counted even if it is not clear that corona was the cause of death.

Consent is not required unless releasing specific names. More lies.

Potential to backfire on them if lower than actual reported figures cause complacency with people kidding themselves that its not as bad as it actually is.
