Agreed, "made up" is too strong. But it looks to me like academic misconduct, far more serious than "bias."

I agree that the critique makes strong points. But the sins seem mainly like heavy confirmation bias--seeing only what you want/expect to see. Pretty familiar stuff. Not saying it ISN'T "misconduct," just that it's fairly common, alas.
