I still want to go back for one in Glimwood Tangle, but there isn't any known way to boost the rate of authentic there, sadly. Dex rec only boosts phony, and this method requires them to be symbol encounters.

Assuming the fact that the 50% KO boost is intentional, and considering the efforts GF has been making on the last main games to keep the franchise accessible, it wouldn't be weird to find "rare" mons/forms has some sort of secret boost hidden in the code.

It's intentional and referenced here: https://www.pokemon.com/us/strategy/gigantamax-shiny-pokemon-sword-pokemon-shield-wild-area/ … They say "Every time you defeat a Pokémon in the wild, you'll also be much more likely than usual to see more Pokémon of that same species appear for a short time." They didn't say that "a short time" is "1 spawn".
