I just get tired...Tired of hearing that 1.5°C is a "target" or "goal". IT IS NOT. It is a limit. The only real goal is 0°C. And not bad 1.5°C, when we LIKELY tip GIS, WAIS, Tropical Coral Reefs and Abrupt Boreal Permafrost, and get more floods, droughts, heat, disease, storms.

In cities like Delhi, the richest 20% households have three times the carbon footprint as the poorest 20%. That's why we need lifestyle change - made feasible by infrastructure and policies.

My latest piece is currently "Most viewed" on the Guardian. "The movie #DontLookUp is satire. But speaking as a climate scientist, it’s also the most accurate film about society’s terrifying non-response to climate breakdown I’ve seen."

I'm told by a friend at the epicentre of the latest crisis in Canada that the terrible floods and landslides are aggravated by the fires this summer, which burnt much of the forest and baked the soil, so the water now flashes straight off. It's a classic compound climate disaster

In our latest blog and I write about how a #carbonmarket simulation can help design a cost effective, ambitious and sustainable carbon market in India #CarbonMarketsAtWRIIndia

Carbon markets are complex to implement and high transaction costs can make them expensive or ineffective. Without robust and standardized data MRV frameworks, they run the risk of double counting and fraud. @AshwiniHingne and @shubhangi154 write. wri-india.org/blog/theory-pr

The #NetZero quest is not a zero-sum game. Three decades ago, India’s per capita income was $300, today it is $2000; our economy grew 10x, but our CO2 emissions grew only 4x. What could the next three decades look like as new technologies become cheaper?

Questions. 1. Will other states also get free vaccine? 2. Will Bihar get free vaccine first? 3. If BJP loses in Bihar, will the state still get the free vaccine? 4. Who is funding the distribution of free vaccine? States or Union? 5. What is govt's vaccine distribution plan?

As soon as #COVID19 vaccine will be available for production at a mass scale, every person in Bihar will get free vaccination. This is the first promise mentioned in our poll manifesto: Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman at the launch of BJP Manifesto for #BiharPolls
