It’s a completely reasonable proposition to suggest it’s a form of terrorism. There are plenty within the Incel comm who believe it’s the govt’s responsibility to provide men who can’t find a willing sexual partner one for them. If not, they will retaliate until given relief.https://twitter.com/davidfutrelle/status/989165898178224128 …

It’s sort of murky territory and thank fuck I’m not an expert in Incel positions, but I’ve seen people both demanding it’s the govt’s job over the years, and in response to this incident in particular that “Maybe they’ll start to learn sex should be our basic right.”

I didn’t know Incels were a thing until 2 days ago and it leapfrogged every other ideology I’ve known as the most ridiculous one I’ve ever heard

It’s definitely one of the more fucked up ones. I’ve been aware of their existence for a few years now without really going too deeply into the depths of insanity. Mostly been the butt of jokes, but they’re suddenly seeming a lot less funny.

Around the Elliot Rogers murder spree people starting talking about the PUA community, Fuckface Roosh, and Incels/Volcels. I had friends who took a perverse interest in finding out more about the way these people think and operate. And appropriately ridiculing them.

So, I’m familiar with it all from then. I don’t want to be some person getting all hysterical about some Incel violence wave, but it’s not unreasonable to be concerned with the way online communities have a lot of access and power to feed and inspire people.
