so what is everyone freaking out about?
-
This is exactly what started gamer gate.
-
someone not saying they know each other when doing an interview?
-
"I'm friends with this person who's thing I'm reviewing, and giving a positive score" Yes, you need to disclose things like that. I would disclose that I was a kickstarter backer of a game if I ended up reviewing it once it came out.
-
yeah but, why do people care so much? and why are people screaming gamer gate 2.0? and it wasnt even a review, it was an interview
-
because its called ethics and disclosure. You know, the 'golden rule of journalism' to disclose your relationship with whatever you are writing about.
-
i know that now, but that still doesnt explain why people are screaming gamer gate 2, and also why its such a big deal that everyone is freaking out
-
Because it's the same people doing the same thing that caused GG to spark in the first place.

Look, can we just assume that every game journalist is in a relationship with Zoe Quinn and be done with it? It'll save time.
-
This is with comics tho. Next thing you know she’ll be with movie reviewers and suddenly she’ll want to make a film.
-
A comic book is just a video game you read.

Niche journalists only want to hold themselves to the same standards as 'real' journalists when it works in their favor. Like, I get it. The topics you cover aren't super serious. That said, you can't have your cake and eat it too.
Thanks. Twitter will use this info to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Why is anybody still talking about Zoe?
-
We keep trying to ignore her but she won't go away.

Is gamergate old enough to be considered vintage? Because everything vintage is making a comeback nowadays.
-
not until 2114. But, it'll be retro in 2034.
