I find this system very odd. Say they're a couple - or even a few - hundred orders short at the end of June, are they really going to just ditch that release? I mean, it seems like so much of the work is already done. Guess we'll have to wait and see...
I mean, it would really be weird, Rolling Gunner is actually doing the best among their announced releases, if they don't produce that one they might not get anything done.
This is why I tweet about Rolling Gunner every day. I so want to push for this game to see physical reality!
I thought that was the business model to begin with from their relaunch, wasn't it? No production if the minimum number of copies wasn't met. Or had I misunderstood?
Never been fully convinced of model, luv the idea but not sure the time or community is right. Needed a couple blockbusters to get off with then more niche. I'm shmups for life but a western release of a jp hori shmup needing to hit numbers? dunno
@SuperRareGames usp is best suited to indie markets. I'm pretty sure you'd hit the number (1500 in this case) if you made them ready to go. Production just after digital release can be ready within the year now which is same if not faster than numbers 1st
Ironically, if this never released I feel that people would be clamoring for it later, since Shmups tend to be amongst the higher priced items of older consoles. Meanwhile @PhysicalityGame is supporting us now and where is the love? There very few physical shmups on this level.
I've Just reserved my copy!
