I think that’s a good cultural point to take, I suppose it’s a snake chasing it’s own tail for non remote where a company asks you to relocate and then has to provide that social component - where in the remote context you let people continue living their lives the way they want

I think so. It would be weird to be antisocial in an office environment which is inherently social. (But I'm sure many would prefer to be!)

Yesss. Employees needing to be friends has issues.. excludes people with different lifestyles/interests; fragile when social mavens move on; sucks for async communication. IMO it can also hold people back from building their own meaningful social relationships outside of work.
