disagree. Well depends on how you define mostly. If that is just 51% maybe. But I don't think it is more than 60%. Your adulthood is a result of lots of things. Include what you do in your adulthood. Childhood is a huge input.

Nah. Easily falsified by the fact that twins with largely the same childhood often grow up being wildly different in adulthood.

I should agree, given what I do, but it’s as easy to overstate this point as it is to understate it. This is an overstatement, IMO. Childhood matters but it isn’t even “mostly” determinative.

With your expertise, what % would you put it at?

Absolutely not. Childhood sets the stage, but you write the play. And you can even choose an entirely different stage. This is well-supported psychology.

What language will you use? Will you write about flying cars or magic? Will it make women equal to men or inferior? Will it assume God lives? All informed by your childhood. And I said “mostly,” fwiw.

Depends. An adult with enough self-awareness can work on nurturing traits which were not nurtured during childhood. Harder, but not impossible.
-
I agree. The only adulthood worth living is one that attempts to break free from the constraints of childhood. Mental. Emotional. Spiritual.
