real-time what is in the air (eg. pollution, other substances) from a network of sensors spaced about every 4 metres, worldwide

It's about the size of a room, indoors, and the height of the storey of a building. I notice different smells at about that distance

Outdoors, it is about how far I have to walk to temporarily outpace diffusion.

eg. if I smell car exhaust from a car that just passed, I can walk about 4m and not smell the exhaust for a few seconds
