Agreed. This definitely keeps me up at night. So much of what’s made this country special stems from the fact that it’s the place that the most enterprising minds around the world desire to go to. If America loses that, it loses a heck of a lot.

It is interesting to consider the likely non-linear upsides of high concentrations of smart / driven people balanced against the at least partially zero-sum game of depriving other parts of the world of them. Optimistic-me thinks net positive for all, but others could differ.

Is it selfish of us to want the most enterprising minds to leave their country and come to America? Is benefit to America - detriment to origin country > 0?
