Good luck hiring engineers willing to work in reason or purescript

Actually, that's been an enormous advantage since using FP at work is a massive selling to many developers. Also, it made hiring easier because it filters out mediocre developers.

I used to think this. But then I realized that I’m not forced to use all the java like features (classes, interfaces, etc). Now I only use type aliases like I do when I define records in PureScript The mere use of type aliases makes it much safer than untyped JS.

I agree, but that's not how the majority of TS developers write TS.

I've used purescript for some projects and the performance is still not there

-
I'm hopeful that PureScript would be fast-enough before it hits 1.0. Reason, on the other hand, does not suffer from any performance problems for the work I do.

I hope you know that TypeScript is not like Java in forcing you to write OP code. There is so many FP libraries written in TypeScript!

It doesn't remove advantages of the dynamic languages. Also, it's time to stop thinking that "OOP is bad and FP is good". Both approaches have their pros and cons.
-
Moreover: both approaches can be used at the same time. They are not opposites.
