the right to free speech is a right to not be institutionally silenced by your government for taking a political or religious stance. it does not in fact prevent individuals or private corporations from serving you social consequences for saying stupid destructive garbage

it's disingenuous to act as if the concept of a digital platform has any sort of firmly established legal precedent at all. protection of free speech dates back 100s of years before the internet or megacorporations existed. waving off the debate in this way is intellectually lazy
