    New SOTA on Obstacle Tower, using a highly-tuned/scaled version of PPO. This is great work, and a testament to the scaling power of simple algorithms. Still a ways to go before anyone is close solving all 100 floors, though I imagine that will require algorithmic innovations.

    We have scaled up our second position approach in the obstacle tower challenge ( ). We now reach up to 23.6 floors on the test seeds and consistently above 20. The entire code and trained policies will be available soon.

    Gotta love who is keeping nail salons, bowling alleys, barber shops and bars open, but hospitals in all of the major cities have to stop doing elective surgeries. You might end up on a ventilator, but damn your hair and nails look great

    Lunch was always my favorite time of the day. It was a chance to learn about my colleagues, catch up on personal lives and share “bat shit crazy” ideas (especially in our field of and ).

    One of the biggest things lost in remote work is chance meetings. These are very important, but hard to quantify. If you measure productivity on individual projects, everything will seem fine. Yet when you read stories of how things happened, chance meetings were often crucial.
