Re-upping this in light of today's Merck news. The de-90s-fication of pharma continues to be a huge theme. My prediction (barring any major policy changes) is that all big pharma companies are going to look like big biotech within three years.

Really interesting new health-tech company. Took a deep dive into Verana Health. Think Flatiron, but focused on eyes and brains, not cancer. And, here's the big thing: working directly w/ medical societies. Impressive team, lots to watch going forward.

I've counted at least a dozen examples of fathers, mothers, siblings etc. leading drug companies to develop treatments for their loved ones rare diseases, but I wanted to take a look and see if they're moving the needle. Here's what I found.

Rubius has dosed the first patient in its PKU Phase 1 study. Reminder the timeline on this, maintained well into late 2019, was an early readout by end of last year. The biotech now isn't putting out a timeline on initial data. PR:

I last checked in with Lyra about 6 months ago. At the time, the company's CEO said its phase 2 study for a long-acting nasal spray for (very!) stuffy noses should read out toward the end of this year.
