also I’m reminded of how I knew someone in high school who was set on the life goal of becoming president but after beginning college he decided he’d rather just enforce the law instead (as a police officer). in other words he was now paying $45k/year to menace black people

I live near South Bend and have many customers there....I haven’t met one resident of the city who likes this guy. They see him as an absentee stair stepper and feel the positive momentum the city was building before him has ground to a halt at best, reversed at worst
Nobody “likes” him. He’s not likeable for sure. But do people think he did a better job than the previous Mayor? Many SB residents I know approve of what he’s done. (Even my Trumper friends.)A big local crowd sure showed up for his announcement (and it was a dreary rainy day).
