Here's an angry job market tweet for you: despite numerous reports that the global pandemic has affected academic production, specifically that of women and other marginalized scholars, job application requirements have remained consistently the same.
Which is hilarious and ironic because a number of institutions, as part of their responses to COVID, have suspended student evaluations. This means that there are whole crops of contingent and precarious faculty who have no institutional record of "teaching excellence."
I say institutional because most of us have gotten creative with evaluations and distributed our own, though it remains to be seen how hiring institutions will look upon those evaluations. But hey, academia, right?
