What are your suggestions for devices or techniques? I'm trying to: - avoid buying a printer - avoid having to transcribe annotations into a computer - eye strain It seems iPad/Surface/<insert your favourite android tablet here> are overkill and pricey but maybe the way to go?
Twitter friends, I would like to have a way to: - read papers and digitally annotate them - read a few newsletters (and maybe digitally annotate them) - do some "box" thinking while reading and be able to forward that (realtime not needed) - take digital notes while reading books

I ordered a remarkable 2 hoping to be able to do what you want. Some people recommended it to me. But it takes them f ages to deliver (mine will arrive on October and I ordered it in March)https://remarkable.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjw8pH3BRAXEiwA1pvMsRFMtf2cyD_wk7Gh93CiDMzXLZQytVsB8O2cXV2NX2FS9oyIyHCM-hoCVI0QAvD_BwE …

I’d be curious to hear your experience with it. I tried it the first one (I think) but the writing felt not great so I could not justify the price for a bigger kindle.

For 1, 3 and 4 I have used Notability on an iPad + pencil with great success. The app even allows you to split screen between notes and reading media. They even have a Mac app so sync between tablet/laptop is effortless.
