Do you reckon Linux still has a chance to win the desktop war? I personally think it is very hard, and unless desktops come preinstalled with Linux, it is almost impossible.

Anything is possible but I also think it's not something Linux needs or has to win. Winning the desktop is not necessary. Building a better one is, whoever ends up building it. For that you need healthy competition, so let the games begin (not end).
