Anyone else really struggle with over analysing people's responses? For example, I just suggested something and got a "ok, sounds good" back. My immediate thought is "oh no, the person disagrees" because I can't stop myself from analysing the language to the nth degree.
A few years back I decided to take a very different approach: I now immediately reply back with "Does 'sounds good'" mean I should be doing it, or that it's indifferent or you need to think a bit about it? Same with 1:1s and people say "I'm fine". I give them a range and ask.
