Facebook also gave our data to Yandex aka Russia. Isn't Facebook behaving like a spy for Russia? Facebook is espionage.
-
At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Zuckerberg takes money for just that.

We need tech privacy regulations badly. At least let users have the default of “opt out”.
-
Non-users should be able to opt out, too. If you choose not to use FB, but your friends/relatives/coworkers use it, Facebook will happily suck your info straight out of their contacts and call logs instead.
-
opt-out? Should not be allowed. if they allow it, opt-in. No penalties or restrictions.
-
"Opt out"!!!! Opt out of what? Facebook illegally sharing your private messages? Illegal, behind your back, in essence- is illegal! They have gone beyond any realm of privacy & decency & if remaining users don't jump ship then the government should strangle regulate!

And Zuckerberg is very, very sorry. He's not sure how this could have happened, and he promises that it will never, ever happen again.
-
Oh, and you should totally buy a Portal and give Facebook a camera and microphone in your home. You can totally trust them.
-
Why is everyone coming down on Zuckerberg? He just wants to be your Big Brother.......

So is this as bad or equal to the breech at Equifax, Target, Anthem, Home Depot...?
-
Worse because it wasn’t a breach, but an offering.

They were talking about putting ads in private messages and that is when the creator of the instant messaging part quit the job. Facebook already made enough money for anyone who works there to be happy and I think they will not bother fixing anything. Why would they?
-
Yes, the late Maya Angelou said "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time." Mark Zuckerberg proved to be an obnoxious + intrusive shark from the very beginning per many firsthand accounts. He should've never been trusted/unregulated with that much data.
-
This is all making me more curious about the real reasons why Instagram's founders left FB recently citing essentially "creative differences"... all of which is basically an alert that MZ's probably got more unethical, invasive plans for Instagram in the works as well.
-
I am curious about this too.
