    Instead this app was kept a secret until a few weeks ago. Precincts were given little to no training. It didn’t help that phone lines to call in votes were also recently changed.

    That being said, cyber security experts (IE ) are clear that this should have been tested, extensively, before being rolled out. That’s the best, and widely used standard in Cybersec these days: have everyone and anyone help look for vulnerabilities.

    From our NYT story tonight: no indication the app to tally votes in Iowa was hacked/breached. What happened appears to be much more mundane and commonplace: people didn’t understand how to use the technology, and bugs in internet speed/connectivity led to a lot of malfunctions.

    the campaign staffers are in the boiler room shoveling coal into a giant furnace like it's the titantic, it's the only way to keep the app running, very few know this

    There is technical issue with Iowa results reporting. Hearing from multiple campaigns that the Iowa Democratic Party is sending a tech staffer to the shared boiler room in Des Moines, where the campaigns have staff headquartered, to brief them momentarily on what’s going on.

    The viral video (that has been widely discredited by fact checkers) suggesting that 8 counties in Iowa have higher voter registrations than actual voters WILL NOT be removed by Facebook. They are referring it to fact checker.

    Here is what we know about where Facebook stands on dis/misinformation going into the Iowa caucus: Content that leads to voter suppression, like wrong dates/time to vote, will be removed by FB. That is their red line. Everything else gets evaluated.
