Fred Hampton ain't had no students, but he taught us. Octavia Butler ain't had no classroom, but she taught us. Lauryn Hill did not answer the roll call on her own album (or at many of her concerts 🙂). She had no school, but she taught us. You's a teacher, . ♥️

    1. Take care of yourselves. This is a long journey. It’s tough and this machine of white supremacy is built to last. You’ve got to sustain yourselves to outlast it. (3/7)

I’m not really here on the chat but I think there needs to be more nuance when discussing the intentions and work of folx affiliated with organizations. as a black TFA alum, I am both highly critical of the org and also grateful for my ability to enter a classroom.

tonight I texted , “sorry for the delay. white supremacy got in my way.” and I think I will begin every tardy reply/arrival with that truth from now on because nothing is better than a truth that rhymes.
