One year after Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine, President Biden traveled to Kyiv to meet with President Zelenskyy. Here’s how it happened. On Sunday at 4:15 AM EST, @POTUS departed D.C. on Air Force One for Germany – where the plane refueled and was wheels up at 6:29 PM CET.

Huge congrats, Theo. I love a student journalist who proves that they are nothing less than a REAL journalist. And you have done that in spades, writing consequential, well-reported, fair, and accurate stories that make a difference. (Oh, and you're just a freshman!)

Beyond honored to receive a 2023 George Polk Award. None of this would be possible without the incredible, brilliant, and supportive team I've had @StanfordDaily. My editors–including @sbcatania, @kate_selig, and @RileyOriana–are phenomenal – and my knowledgeable advisors (1/

Those of us at the , and plenty of others around Washington, are mourning the passing of our colleague Blake Hounshell. If you would care to contribute to a GoFundMe page for Blake’s wife and two kids, you can do that here. gofund.me/abfc8005. RIP Blake.

Of note: - The first lady is the WH's most-requested surrogate. - Dems have been telling her POTUS is too old. She continues to shut it down. - She's powerful in the West Wing. After the president's 2-hour press conference, aides had to answer to her.

Bill was one of the nicest people in the briefing room when I started covering the White House in 2009. A total gentleman and not a bad guy to have on a foreign trip when you’re trying to figure out what wine to order. RIP, Bill.

There were several legends still roaming the halls at CBS News when I started working there in 2005. Most were huge personalities and had the "presence" that goes with that. Bill was just a genuinely nice, fascinating guy, who also happened to be a legend. twitter.com/TVietor08/stat

My earliest memories of watching CNN involve Bernie Shaw anchoring from Baghdad during the first Gulf War. I remember being inspired by his clarity and even-handedness during an intense time. RIP

Jerry was one of the first editors I worked for at the Mercury News. I didn’t know him well, but he was always nice to me. RIP.

Jerry Ceppos loved LSU and its students. A kind, humble, generous, and wise man. Like most journalists, he had a wicked sense of humor. But mostly, he was kind. Will miss him a lot. theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/ne

President Biden’s doctor says his symptoms are improving. But he now has a sore throat (the WH had said he didn’t before) and he now has body aches (also, new). Runny nose and cough continue, the doctor says. Initial testing says it’s likely BA5.
