  2. Cannot believe it, but it's a pre-9 p.m. end. Good night, all. I'm off to Orlando for a wedding tomorrow through the weekend. (I'll still put out a newsletter, tho.)

  4. Not relevant to much, but in an update on Sister Cities from Swetlik, I just learned that the tiles for the Sister City plaza cost $10,000 each. What?!

  5. We understand the points of the cottage owners, but they're one stakeholder, Carr says. There are open space users, ppl who eat at the dining hall, who use the park, who hold weddings there. "To have 39 homeowners telling us what to do is really troubling."

  6. Colorado Chautauqua Association has already spent over $100K in attorney fees, Carr says. We're wasting so much time and $$ that should be going to the community.

  7. The suit alleges the city misread the lease, Carr says. "I wrote a lot of the lease. I don't think I misread it at all."

  10. Young is also giving an update on Chautauqua. I wish Sam was here (for more than one reason) bc I don't know that I can sort this out for you. Sorry; I can't do it all.

  11. The meeting is almost over. Just another quick update on online petitioning. Coming back to council in March 3, I believe.

  14. Putting it on the utility bill is a convenient thing, but we can't talk about if that's right or not, Weaver says. Later, though: Staff is going to go ahead with a competitive bidding process, pick a consultant and then come back to council to refine priorities before a study.

  15. Weaver does, too. "I think that has to get done one way or another. What fee mechanism we choose will be up to us to discuss."

  16. Wallach concurs. "I think there's a larger issue here." But he also supports moving forward with the study.

  17. Friend: I support moving forward but I have concerns on why transportation goes on utility bills. "I hope that when it comes back, we have a robust discussion about that decision and the precedent it sets."

  18. Swetlik: I also love the $3 for 3, but my concern is peak congestion in the morning. I don't think we've been aggressive enough with our parking. "The ppl who are coming in the early mornings tend to be at the higher levels of income."

  19. Young: Rebates sound great, but it's hard to get ppl to engage. Brockett: Rebates aren't necessarily the way to do it. Just focus on equity. Hagelin: Maybe exemptions. Rebates are a little more complicated.

  20. Brockett: When we discussed last year, one of the attractive qualities was the ability to do rebates. You worked on this five years ago...? Hagelin: Yes. We were at this point 5 yrs ago. Much laughter.
