This is what the examiner searched for to look for prior art. As
@calyxlaw
found, he didn't search for “DMT” or “vape pen," and only searched Chemical Abstracts Plus and the patent database. 2/

Why might an examiner not catch clearly material prior art? Besides reviewing references provided by the applicant, here’s what the examiner searched No “DMT”, no “vape pen” … And just Chemical Abstracts Plus & the patent database The “Examiner’s search strategy & results”:
