Some guy got a patent on DMT vape pens, something that's been well documented for years. 's whole thread on this is worth looking at, but there's a part that I think is particularly relevant towards the psychedelics/patent issue overall ... 1/

This is what the examiner searched for to look for prior art. As found, he didn't search for “DMT” or “vape pen," and only searched Chemical Abstracts Plus and the patent database. 2/
