Around 2 million Ukrainians in Poland, perhaps the biggest migration in Europe in recent years, and their stories tell a lot about both Poland and Ukraine...https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/apr/18/whole-generation-has-gone-ukrainian-seek-better-life-poland-elect-president …

The only reason why British people aren't all moving to try and find jobs is that we're the most expensive country anyway. Migration is simply from countries with lower wages to countries with perceived higher wages, although they'll find out the reality soon enough.

The way you explain 4.8 million #UK nationals living & working throughout #Europe is that they either found better paying more interesting jobs there, or could retire in greater comfort on their UK pensions/superannuation there.

Also German news media has been very interested on this with the shift of the latest wave to Germany since late 2018 https://www.rbb-online.de/kowalskiundschmidt/archiv/20181208_1725/einwanderungsstadt.html …

The biggest migration in Europe is #British nationals, about 4.8 million of them, who have spread out through the #EU.

Ukrainian migration has to be bigger. Some 3 million people are in Russia. I've seen numbers that go from 6 to even 9 million people, even the last number does seam as exaggeration.

So much misleading information. Why journos very often quote extreme views (K. Bosak very active in social media, but representing party obtaining 1% or less in every election). " no language programmes"-there are plenty language programmes. Please check it out by yourself.

Plenty of free "szkoły policealne". Great source of information - youtube channels of Ukrainians who migrated to PL. Worth watching

Sorry but this offers a very skewed perspective on the subject. Presenting a fringe far-right leader as the main Polish voice is deeply misleading, as is your focus on hostility towards Ukrainians, who have actually been well received in Polandhttps://twitter.com/danieltilles1/status/1118790173419016192 …

        Daniel Tilles added,

It's good this story is getting attention but not so good that the main Polish voice @shaunwalker7 presents is of Krzysztof Bosak, a far-right leader whose party polls around 0%. The article suggests hostility towards Ukrainians in Poland, but in fact there's been little tension https://twitter.com/notesfrompoland/status/1118789388492783616 …

But what does 12% mean? Even if Ukrainians are tolerated better than other migrants, there are still 2m people being affected by ambivalent attitudes, and more importantly, poor employment protection. They effectively function as an underclass. (Bosak comment notwithstanding).
