We're at an inflection point where it's about to get 100x easier to spread misinformation with generative AI
Dear Media, we are calling on you to be better. Get back to your roots. Slow down and get it right.

We're living in a time where it was:
- *absolutely not acceptable* to discuss a Covid lab leak theory
- where Hunter Biden's laptop was *most definitely fake*
- and where Ligma Johnson was a Twitter employee
The first two were labelled "misinformation" on social media

Many media outlets have reported that David DePape was a right-wing MAGA guy (who just happened to sell hemp jewelry and live in Berkeley). The source was his "personal blog" frenlyfrens.com, which has since been taken down.

This Paul Pelosi story is pretty nutty. I have no idea what the truth is, but I can say with confidence that much of what has been reported is false.
Dear Media, we're sick of being lied to. Please do your jobs and find the truth.

Many of the early people into crypto found their way in for deeply personal reasons:
- families that fled dictatorships
- being obsessed with the math
- coming from cyberpunk / hacker roots
’s journey into crypto doesn’t disappoint!

The implication that most will draw (from the carefully chosen words) here is that JPMC did this in response to Kanye’s antisemitic comments
But it seems the letter was actually sent weeks before, in response to Kanye saying he’s moving money to BofA

Earlier today I learned that @kanyewest was officially kicked out of JP Morgan Chase bank. I was told there was no official reason given, but they sent this letter as well to confirm that he has until late November to find another place for the Yeezy empire to bank.

Who will be the arbiter of truth here? PayPal is now the moral police? Bye bye.
Quote Tweet
It’s hard for me to openly criticize a company I used to love and gave so much to. But @PayPal’s new AUP goes against everything I believe in. A private company now gets to decide to take your money if you say something they disagree with. Insanity. paypalobjects.com/marketing/ua/p

We’ve seen teams struggle w/ dependency vulnerabilities and heard software composition analysis (SCA) tools are “false positive factories.”

This is great advice. Every time I’ve worked with non Silicon Valley’s companies that used local firms (even if elite in their domain) there were incredibly costly mistakes discovered later, such as not issuing equity properly or allowing small investors blocking rights
Quote Tweet
One of the most no-brainer things a venture-seeking or venture-backed founder outside Silicon Valley can do is get a Silicon Valley law firm to represent them. Avoids future pain and saves time, money, and brain cells.

I've seen lots of fields move quickly in my career but none as quickly as generative AI
This field is evolving at light speed. The playbook needs to be thrown out and rewritten every quarter or so. I'm sure that's true for this article as well, but it's damn good for right now!
Quote Tweet
We are entering a new era of human-machine co-creation. If we allow ourselves to dream, then it’s easy to imagine a future where Generative AI is deeply embedded in how we work, create and play.
Excited to share our musings on the space here:

it's incredible how people's logic just breaks with this statement
missing 1 flight is > missing 0 flights
losing 1 candidate is > losing 0 candidates
I'm not saying to miss a flight every week, or to nickel and dime candidates
Quote Tweet
One of my Expanse co-founders used to say “you don’t value your time if you’ve never missed a flight.”
Repurposing this for start-ups:
You don’t value your cash and equity if you’ve never lost a candidate due to comp.
