seriously yall? why is everyone mad at @ShaunKing like he planned the lie. He at least believed her and was quick to try and attain justice. Sherita is wrong here. Shaun was standing by his belief of justice and this further proves that he truly stands for human rights

Because he lacks the ability to apologize for ruining someone’s life. That’s why. Simple.
-
He didnt ruin anyones life. Officer Hubbard still has a job and will continue to have one. Now that the truth is out he is most likely seen as a honorable officer. As for Sherita, this gave her 15 minutes of fame but maybe enough people know about her now to not hire her
-
I fully support a lot of what he does. Simply not apologizing shows his lack of self awareness in this grave error. How can you fight for RIGHTS if you can’t admit when you’re wrong? Apologies go along way in our society.
-
I understand what youre saying but I ubderstood his essay differently. His words showed respect toward Officer Hubbard so my final takeaway wasnt "wheres the apology" until I read all the comments amd everyones blaming Shaun. The intentions seem genuinely good
-
I think that people with a platform like Shaun have a responsibility to be thorough. I felt like he should personally apologize, not just to the officer, but to the thousands of people who retweeted and shared the original unfounded accusations, and took him at his word

Until someone genuinely apologizes for the death of Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland & so many others; I accept Shaun's statement. Hell this country hasn't even apologized for the abuse & mistreatment of Native Americans or slaves!. Until that happens, go find a seat!

Two wrongs don’t make a right.
-
Unfortunately it isn't two wrongs. It's millions of wrongs done by the system of injustice that
@ShaunKing fights. So yes he's doing the right thing. Better to fight & take some falls than do nothing and be part of the problem of white supremacy. -
This isn’t the second time he’s pushed a false story. He was fired from the the NYDN for this same exact thing. I’m not against him fighting injustice. That’s admirable. But slandering people with out ALL facts (and not learning from a previous mistake) doesn’t help the fight.
-
False story. Shaun King wasn't fired from New York Daily News, the editor was, as reported in CNN and many other sources. The accusation above was confirmed false by the Daily News in 2016, yet this disinformation is still being circulated in 2018.

@ShaunKing this is something, but its still missing a heartfelt apology to the officer & a promise to your followers & supporters to be diligent and slow to judgement moving forward. For us who trust you as a source, this mistake needs to be FULLY addressed with a GENUINE apology -
Acknowledgement isn't an apology. You owe it to your nearly 1 million followers to have journalistic integrity & be more responsible with stories going forward. I admire & applaud what you do,, but all of that is tarnished when you don't take responsibility for YOUR actions.
-
He owes no one any apology, keep it moving.
-
i respect that's your opinion, but I'm just voicing mine... but i do stay keeping it moving, so thanks! :)
