Just to be clear, you're saying that his suggestion that you'll be "handled", where the antecedent is the "handling" of the still-living Schlossberg, is a death threat? It's crude & obnoxious, but I don't see how it's a death threat.

Since King is already a public figure, “handled” obviously means something else.

And maybe its not a death threat. But its very easily a threat of physical violence towards him or people he knows.

So then why not just stick with what is obviously true, and say that it's a 'threat'?

I agree that the term death threat may not be actually correct because its based on perception. But imagine this threat from someone who probably gets regular threats and death threats. And has ensured hardships you don't know. Maybe his perception is the threat means death.

Hence my request for clarification and offer of a different perspective, that it might not be.

I get your point, but we should try our best to get his. If someone said this to me.I would perceive any threat of physical violence of one that could lead to death. In my opinion
