Just saw images of a Palestinian woman throwing a rock about 20-25 feet. The Israeli snipers she was aiming for were at least 150 feet away. They shot and killed her anyway.

This notion that Israel has the right to shoot unarmed protestors standing in their own land will never fly with me. And shame on any of you justifying it. Just play role reversal and imagine if Canada or Mexico started assassinating Americans who just got near the border.

I love your work and support a two state solution, think BIBI belongs in jail and the “occupation needs to end... That being said weren’t those protestors trying to cross the border? Aren’t the two sides at war? Why did Hamas instruct them to try to cross knowing the consequence?

You know that Israel left Gaza 13 years ago. What occupation? Also Gaza has received over 7.7 Billion in aid in 2008-2010 alone. Where does that $ go? I admit those people are suffering, but maybe its because Hamas hordes all the aid $ to build tunnels.

And where are these 7.7 billion dollar tunnels? Gaza is an open air prison- they have no freedom of movement & Israel places extreme restrictions on good incl. water & medical supplies. When you can’t live & work w/o IDF parolling a fence meant to lock you inside, ure occupied.

Furthermore, when Israel left the strip in 05 there was no blockade. None. It was imposed in 07 after Hamas took over and began using it as a launching pad for rockets as well as building terror tunnels.

Israel has been completely disingenuous about a 2-state solution which in retrospect is OBVIOUS by decades of shameless land grabs & the Jerusalem move by the US. So all of those "negotiations" were a complete sham. People don't react well to indefinite occupation

Gaza is occupied by Israel, the fence isn't a border, it is an illegal ghetto wall jailing refugees including nearly a million children. Completely different that people of a state approaching the border of another, not that shooting would be appropriate there either

Even the NYT cited explosives at the protest, Shaun. NOBODY wanted this today (Except Hamas) but they were NOT unarmed, nor were there ZERO life threatening violent provocations from be crowd. This is a terrible loss, but you must look at all sides.

Based off of a picture we can presume distance now? This woman is one example, what about the other hundreds who are closer?? Not to mention there were Israeli soldiers wounded as well. Death on either side is horrible, but then don’t rush the fence with the intent to breach it!

Not really. Mexican lands were acquired by treaty with the u.s., not stolen outright, as is the case with Israel.
