While I get what she was trying to say the fact that she even used the word reparation highlights how little she understands the issues. And the problems with her candidacy.
I have to be clear here.
@CynthiaNixon did not say that guaranteeing marijuana businesses in Black communities is reparations for slavery.
She said reparations need to be made for modern day mass incarceration to right the wrongs of it.

May I ask, how so? Just wondering your take on her usage of the word reparation and how it highlights how little she understands the issue. I'm asking in good faith, just trying to figure out my own thoughts on someone who may be my governor one day.

Her use of the word "reparations" was misguided, but I agree with her argument. The communities that were harmed by marijuana arrests should have an opportunity to benefit from its legalization.
