Four brilliant Black women checked out of their @Airbnb. A white woman outside waved at them and they didn't wave back.
So she called the police.
Then helicopters & a slew of police cars swarmed the area.
I've spoken to these sisters - who are shaken up, but pressing on.pic.twitter.com/dpZRUljycI

Are they going to press charges on the women who called the police?

I'm still getting over the group of happy, laughing, black wine connoisseurs who were thrown off the Napa Valley railroad for being too noisy. And then there was the former Obama staffer last week! Seems like most of white America needs to go on a course about racial profiling.
-
And the two young Native Americans on their college tour had police called on them cause they ‘didn’t fit in ..’ , and didn’t answer a white woman’s questions thoroughly enough ...
-
That story from Colorado is almost as appalling and mind-blowing as the one about the Trump supporters at a rally in Arizona who told some Native Americans to "go home". Duh! Who are the illegal immigrants?

This practice of “calling the police on blacks while...” is beginning to feel like a form of forced segregation. The premise being that if we (blacks or other people of color) are made to feel uncomfortable enough, we will remain in our communities.

I think we need to start naming the callers to 911. There has to be accountability in these crazy calls alleging wrongdoing based on nothing but racism.
-
And police need to be trained to recognize the possibility that a call is a nonsense call rather than presuming guilt before they even get there.

Don’t blame the police here blame the resident. Know, talk and connect to your neighbors.
-
No you don't get away with that. The police response was extreme and the women were detained far too long. Guilty until they prove their innocence. Who hasn't heard of Airbnb?
-
They revived a call from a supossed “witness” to a crime. It our duty to be honest not fearful residents. I blame the caller. If I’m ID’d as a suspect I would expect to be detained and not arrested as well.
-
Blame the neighbor and their biases and FALSE information.
-
MOSTLY, sure. But police were being willfully dense as #$%^& too. So plenty blame to "go around". Except the women who were just minding their business & were accosted by police b/c they didn't notice &/or respond 2 some paranoid stupid wht housewife w/ too much time on her hands
-
It’s a crime in progress. Emergency call. Emergency response. False reporting of a crime is a crime.
-
I’m not validating any action. Just arguing we as individuals, neighbors and citizens HAVE to hold ourselves accountable. This should have never happened. No call should have been made.
-
You’re definitely validating..
