I hope another University sees this coverage and invites them to visit. They are welcome here in NYC.

They were apologized to by the university and received a VIP tour.
-
No, they didn't finish their tour because the tour group left them. They have since been offered a VIP tour by the university since this disgrace has become public knowledge.
-
Yes I know. My only error was in say they had received the tour vs been offered one. What happened to them is obviously unacceptable.
-
Why would they even want to go to a university where the campus police would take a vague call as an opportunity to treat them like criminals.
-
Exactly! Why would they feel comfortable coming back for a tour or attending. This University showed their true colors.

So so sick of this crap. I worry about my son everyday. Least threatening guy you could meet. But he is a heavy dark skinned black man and for some folks that's automatically a threat.
-
i'm sorry you have to feel that fear. I wish we could find a solution. But as long as white folks fear anyone different, we'll have this problem.

-
I pray for all our young men of http://color.My husband runs a non-profit that mentors young men and old ones, too. All races. There's a lot of pain, hurt and confusion. This current climate is not helping.

We just took our daughter there last week for a campus tour, and now I'm livid. And the cops (of course) blamed the victims for not learning to speak up for themselves? CSU should offer them free tuition, not an apology.

Not answering the lady’s questions, as someone else pointed out on this thread, they were under no obligation to have to answer any questions she asked, all of them were on a University tour together
-
Exactly. And a lot of young kids are shy. Just terrible!!

“They also said they asked you questions and you didn’t answer their questions.” I just had this conversation on another post. Why was it this person’s job to ask them questions and feel entitled to get answers? Just go on the tour like everyone else!
-
This is some BS! I’m so fed up with...
#nevermind -
Many white people feel the need to police their surroundings and feel minorities are supposed to answer to any questioning. I have received plenty of this myself

They were too loud, they were too quiet. Nope, they were too brown. She needed to be removed for being too racist.

The woman who called 911 should be charged for making a hoax call. This “fill in the blank” while black (or another color) crap is a complete WASTE of law enforcers’ time & resources. People need to be arrested for pulling this.
-
This woman definitely should be arrested for reporting a false crime. I’m so sad for the boys and furious with the
woman who’s likely never left her bubble for the real world of diversity. Shame on her. - 1 more reply
